Choosing my team.

When I first explored the list of contribution teams, I was surprised by how many options were available. Each team had its own detailed description, responsibilities, and goals, so choosing just one wasn’t easy.

Since everything was new to me, I needed some time to read through the information and understand where I could contribute the most.

What I’ve selectioned.

After comparing the different teams, I realized that the Design team was the best fit for my current skills and interests. I already have some experience using Figma, and my background in Graphic Design allows me to approach visual projects with confidence.

Starting in this team also gives me the opportunity to apply what I’ve learned during my studies while becoming familiar with the WordPress ecosystem.

Project.

For my contributions, I decided to focus on creating block patterns for different types of websites, such as e-commerce stores, blogs, and informational pages.

I enjoy working on visual layouts, so this seemed like the perfect way to combine design with learning. As I continue practicing, I hope to create more polished patterns that can be useful for other WordPress users and contributors.

• What I will produce: Try to create or improve patterns
• Why it qualifies: With my knowledge and some experience with Figma, I can help to design from there, and to make it for WordPress.

Although the Design team will probably be my main area of contribution, I’m also curious about the other teams and the different ways I might be able to help. As I gain more experience with WordPress, I’d like to explore other opportunities where I can contribute with something.

For now, I’ll keep looking through the available teams to better understand what each one does and where I could make a meaningful contribution in the future.
