The Beginning of everything.

After spending several days watching the WordPress Beginner and Intermediate lessons, I felt confident that I could handle the WP Credits program. However, once I started working on real tasks, I realized it was more challenging than I expected.

Even so, I now understand the basics, which gives me a good foundation to keep practicing and improving. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I’m motivated to continue developing my WordPress skills.

Creating my personal website.

My website is still a work in progress, but I’ve been using what I’ve learned so far to build it. I know it still looks simple, but I’m continuing to learn and improve it step by step. While working on it, I was also writing posts about the tasks required by the WP Credits program.

One thing I wish I had known earlier is that each post should be around 500 words. Since it was my first time writing blog posts, I wasn’t aware of that requirement. Because of this, I made sure to expand my 2 latest post, as well as this one, so they would be more complete and better suited for a proper blog post.

Contributions.

At the beginning, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the long list of contribution options, so I chose the Design team to create block patterns. Later, my tutor encouraged me to try working with Blueprints instead.

I followed the instructions provided on the website, but I still found the process confusing and had trouble understanding how everything worked. After spending a few hours trying to figure it out, I decided to return to my original choice and continue contributing through design.

After that, I started creating block patterns, and I immediately felt more comfortable working on them. I created and submitted my first patterns, which was an exciting milestone for me.

Although I know there’s still plenty of room for improvement, each new pattern helps me practice and better understand how the editor works. I plan to keep creating and submitting more patterns so I can continue improving my skills and produce higher-quality work with every contribution.

The last contribution until now.

Besides creating block patterns, I found another way to contribute to the WordPress community by uploading photos from my smartphone gallery. I have several pictures that I think could be useful for the WordPress Photo Directory, so I’m happy to share them as well.

From now on, I plan to keep contributing in different ways while continuing to improve my skills. At the same time, I’ll keep working on my personal website and making it better as I learn more about WordPress.
