How it begins?

At the beginning, I had no idea where to start or what I was supposed to do. Everything was completely new to me, so my first step was simply creating my account and joining the WP Credits program.

From there, I followed the Beginner and Intermediate User Guides, which introduced me to the platform step by step. Those lessons helped me understand the essential features of WordPress and gave me the confidence to begin exploring the editor and participating in the program on my own.

When I created my personal website.

Using everything I had learned so far, I started building my personal website, where I publish blog posts about my experience and progress throughout the WP Credits program.

I selected a theme that matched the style I wanted, organized the posts into a clear structure, chose a color palette, and customized different sections of the site.

My goal is to keep the website clean, simple, and easy to navigate so that anyone who visits it can quickly find the information and enjoy the overall experience.

When I started with the Contributions

Choosing a team to contribute to turned out to be more difficult than I expected. At first, I experimented with Blueprints, but after spending several hours trying to understand the process, I realized it wasn’t the right fit for my current level of experience.

I then switched to creating block patterns, and everything started to go a little better. I was able to create and submit patterns while learning new skills along the way. I also tried contributing to the WordPress Photo Directory by submitting a few photos taken with my smartphone.

Unfortunately, they didn’t meet the required quality standards, so they weren’t accepted. Even though that attempt wasn’t successful, it encouraged me to keep improving. In the end, I decided to focus on block patterns, where I feel I can make the most meaningful contributions while continuing to develop my skills.

As I continued creating block patterns, I experienced a mix of successes and setbacks. Some of my submissions were accepted, while others were rejected, which showed me that I still have room to improve.

Even though I don’t always know the exact reason why a pattern isn’t approved, I see each submission as a learning opportunity. I plan to keep creating new patterns, experimenting with different layouts, and refining my work based on what I learn throughout the process.

I’m confident that, with more practice, the quality of my contributions will continue to improve.

My conclusions with this experience.

Looking back on this experience, I can clearly see how much I’ve learned since the beginning. I started the program without really knowing where to begin, but little by little I gained new skills and became more comfortable using WordPress.

I’m also very grateful to my tutor, who guided me through some parts of the process and helped me move forward when I felt stuck.

Even after these practices are over, I hope to continue learning on my own, improving my skills, and finding new ways to contribute to the WordPress community.
